Rebate Program

Good news for you!!!  The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) has a water rebate program.

More specifically, the Las Vegas Valley Water District will pay you $3.50 for every square foot of grass that you remove.  This allows you to reduce future maintenance costs & get paid for it.  This program does mean that you will have to agree to a contract that prevents you from installing new grass or a swimming pool in the area where grass was removed.  You, or a future owner of the residence, have the option of buying back the contract at a later date- so make sure to read any contract you agree to before signing!

Irrigation System Leak & Your Water Bill

In old Las Vegas days, when you had a leak in your sprinkler irrigation system, there was only a small increase on your monthly water bill.  The newer SNWA has raised the 'tier' level and along with that the pricing by tier has increased.  In the past, it would be easy to notice a large ($100) increase in your water bill from month-to-month.  Because of the new tier pricing, it may not be as easy to spot these days.

SNWA Fines

The Las Vegas Water District sends out water inspectors from time to time.  If these inspectors see any excess water or run off coming from your residence- they will issue a warning.  If caught a second time, they can levy fines of $200, increasing with each subsequent violation.
